Deniers Peddle Scientific Illiteracy

They even call themselves skeptics. Deniers are hysterical.

Deniers Peddle Science Illiteracy

They even get paid for their lies. Deniers are not at all skeptical of their blogging leader(s).

Interesting fact. Topix split "leader(s)" at the end of line. I didn't.

The article itself is scientifically illiterate.

It claims that the scientifically accurate 30%increase in 'acidity' represented by the concentration of hydrogen ions is only 0.7% of an arbitrary '14 point log scale'(aka pH). The pH scale is the pH scale. It is not 'acidity'. Acidity is defined by H+ ion concentration itself. The pH scale is a convenient shorthand for large changes in acidity.

Nor does any measure 'count ions'. A ludicrous notion. Sure we don't count individual ions. Does ANYONE think this is meaningful??

Nor does it address the fundamental point of the claim that there is a negative effect on oyster harvests from this increase in acidity (stated by actual oyster farmers).

The prize for intellectually dishonest scientific illiteracy goes to the 'power line' blog. But what do you expect from a bunch of lawyers (lawyers tend to follow the money .. not the science)
