Surprising Depth to Global Warming's Effects

There are 5 comments on the LiveScience story from Mar 27, 2013, titled Surprising Depth to Global Warming's Effects. In it, LiveScience reports that:

The oceans are the flywheel of the climate system. As atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases increase, the Earth system is warming, and over 90 percent of that increase in heat goes into the ocean.

What is causing the hypothesized decrease in sinking of waters around Antarctica? This is still an
"open question,"
but some researchers have
"suggested"
that this decrease
"could be caused"
by recent increases in the rate of melting glaciers in West Antarctica. The increased freshwater input is causing the shelf waters to freshen there and thus get lighter,
"perhaps"
inhibiting sinking. Indeed, the waters sinking in this region have been freshening, as well, in recent decades, supporting this
"suggestion".

So they really don't know.

It is fairly clear and not a question to most SCIENTISTS that the 'surface warming' is primarily in the ocean. The problem has mainly been the exact depth of ocean affected as this involves a number of processes which are not well detailed. But that is the details and why the facts are presented with cautionary adjectives.

The penetration depth of surface heating on land is much better defined by borehole studies as there is only conduction.

Not that PHD understands any of it.

Well now I have company. You at your best couldn't understand real science so stick with your scientific science fiction it fits you well lessfactandnohype.
