Book for a Marine Biologist

I've had a good friend for a few years now and she's now going to college in Hawaii to become a marine biologist and she is very interested in studying sharks. Her birthday is approaching and I was thinking about getting her a great book on sharks, the kind that a shark biologist would read and refer to for years. I also want to be a Marine Biologist but I want to study marine mammals so I don't know what would be a good book for her. If anyone has an opinion, please let me know. Thank you.
