Hi, I am currently a Junior at Huntington Beach High School and I want to pursue a career in Marine Biology. Since I will have to be applying to a school very soon, I want to create a research project for myself so as to have more for my application. During early Summer time in Huntington Beach, we get a lot of mutilated sea lions washing up near Bolsa Chica and Sunset Beach. We even get the occasional Great White Shark wandering into Newport or Huntington Harbor. Additionally, during the summer we often have a few shark sightings reported to the Shark Research Committee. For my research I would like to document any shark behavior in the Bolsa Chica/Sunset area for about four weeks. This would include monitoring marine mammal activity as well. Any advice by a marine biologist as to a good location on this beach and any other helpful tips would be nice. Thank you!
