When they did this in the UK in 1999,(Imperial college) the data was withdrawn at the start of the contest for 2 teams and no graduates were employed in that year!.

How come data input forawards was not fair?

An answer would be nice to know as a result of my career in the ibndustry being wrecked through no fault of my own by that rather nasty executive decision.

Have a nice day: Ag

The Barrel Award is sponsored by the local societies or, in the case of non-US locations, the AAPG Region management.Several of us have been pushing to get Regions to put the time and effort in to get sponsorship and run the local/Regional events. It is quite strong in Canada (I believe Memorial University won this year's Canada region). I believe the UK sponsored a competition last year, and Africa as well. There is no telling why the data sets were withdrawn in 1999. Maybe they had no way to get you to the finals if you won, or maybe they deemed there wasn't enough competition.
