Funny how it did not include geology in its arguments to retain Tibet and take over Taiwan.
The decision to cede the islands to Japan was a cold war decision as a result of the USA conquering the place during the 2nd world war. That was a feature of politics alone.
Taiwan has a better case for retention than China if pre WW2 ownership is contested.
That is a political argument rather than a geological one, and as a result geology is not required in the argument.
