I remember this day as well as the night before and weeks after

Had many meals with the precious people in the church on 5th ave...think it was the Episcople...not sure

Anyway, we waded mud almost a foot deep, it would literally suck the boots off your feet

The underpass took weeks to become passable

We were so blessed no one died, I have many personal photos I took

I remember how it rained so much before. It waashed out bridges, flooded roads with the creeks. The towns were doomed once it started raising so fast. Lost my grandmother's home, watched it wash down the river.

If you remember the 1977 flood then you remember my only daughter died from the flood. why would you people want to bring up such hurtful things as the flood. do you think anybody has fond memories of a disaster?

I remember the '77 flood as well. I had family members who we could not get to for several days. I don't think Williamson was ever the same after that. I really don't think anyone here is saying they have "fond" memories of the flood. Nor do I think anyone meant any harm to (You) who lost someone in that terrible disaster. I am sorry for you loss. I am also sorry for all those who lost everything.

I agree...No one is try to bring up bad memories......I just remember the flood being devastating to Williamson, the businesses there and the surrounding areas.

I don't the town has fully recovered from this disaster. Keep the faith!!
