Berlusconi was attempting to play the Catholic vote card by blaming geologists for the quake.

The persecution of geological scientists appears to be at least in part the cause of the resignation of the current pope, apparently has something to do with the high population of latin american catholics in earthquake prone areas,(whom would at least like to know whwether to stay outside the house for a week or just until the bounce of the current quake dies out).

As per usual with Berlusconi, he tendered out the reconstruction of L'aquila to the mafia whom have taken the money and disappeared with it (nothing unusual there). He appeares to have lost the first of his court cases, which automatically prevents him from taking political office...(more to come).

So far L'aquila is still the same as it was after the quake, with the exception that a few more bits of rubble are on the ground as a result of weathering of cracked masonary.
The current refugee status and location of the former inhabitants of l'aquila & surrounding villages is currently unknown as the last report was last year with still no rebuilding done.

This appears to be classical Italian government practice.

Have a nice day: Ag
