madde, I live less than 35 miles from he epicenter. A 5.2 is moderate. The seismic scale is an exponential scale.

As far as damage goes, there was very little apparent damage to buildings. But the stories people have posted here are similar to my experience, and others I have talked to.

I was awakened by the rumbling (described by many as sounding like thunder, a low flying plane, a truck, a train, "I thought that a car hit my house") at 4:30 AM Central. Then there was a slight rattling, building to a steady shaking of my house that lasted for nearly a minute. I felt a small aftershock approximately one hour later, and a strong 20 second quake at 10:15.

Friends reported being awakened by their pets (cats, dogs, birds) and that their teenagers slept through it.
