Gene study supports single main migration across Bering Strait

There are 3 comments on the PhysOrg Weblog story from Nov 26, 2007, titled Gene study supports single main migration across Bering Strait. In it, PhysOrg Weblog reports that:

“If there were a large number of migrations, and most of the source groups didn't have the variant, then we would not see the widespread presence of the mutation in the Americas”

The U-M study, which analyzed genetic data from 29 Native American populations, suggests a Siberian origin is much more likely than a South Asian or Polynesian origin. via PhysOrg Weblog

Duh...The Native American legends say that's where they all came from; originally one people......How is it that modern science takes so long to catch up? They knew to eat moldy bread and chew willow bark too, for infection and pain...sigh...when will science quit wasting time proving things people already know?....Like the fact that children really can use their little brains all by themselves to come up with new ideas and not have to be "TOLD" how to think...or remember, for that matter...they can so remember or why else would a 2 year old already know which parent to go to for cookies before supper...Really people!

It is important because it provides additional evidence for the land bridge theory and thus for the cradle of civilization and as the variant has no biological function, evolution.

The study published in PLOS Genetics found a unique genetic variant that was widespread in Native Americans in both North and South America. This shows that the first humans on these continents came in a single migration or multiple migrations from the same area, not in waves of migrations from different sources. The variant, which is not part of a gene and has no biological function, has not been found in genetic studies of people elsewhere in the world except eastern Siberia.

In this day and age where those with a religious agenda want to stop the teaching of biological evolution and also now freshman world history classes in the public school system, this is additional evidence to support the facts that are taught in these classes.

ed. I mean seriously, who is going to listen anymore? How many investors besides myself have lost their life savings since 23 years ago?
The numbers must be staggering. Yet nstk continues to exist, management still gets paid and they all get to collect their monthly selling options.
And we're supposed to worry about terrorists?
The little guy, the investor, the make up of America, are always the victims. I served my country, went to Viet Nam, survived, to come back to another world of daily survival. Trying to make a living, paying Taxes, trying to raise children, and face the daily barrage of fire from all ends, just to survive. This is my opinion and personal frustration, and more than likely this will never be poston the tracks after being derailed. I mean seriously, who is going to listen anymore?
