These are the facts that I know for sure: Twins run in my family my Aunt is into Genealogy and has tracked this back to our ancestors that came over on the Mayflower. Twins skip generations, My Grandma had twins, I had twins, My cousin just had a set of twins My Grandma had 4 sets of twins, all of the boys died hours after birth, they were all born full-term. Only one boy survived and lived until the age of two and died from complications of pneumonia. We have no idea what the other boys died from All of her daughters are living. Next fact I have three children 2 boys and a girl. My daughter is healthy she has allergies and asthma which is only a problem when she has a upper-respiratory illness. My oldest Child Alex turned 8 last Monday and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 12/26/2011. When my other son Liam was born he was one of the twins he was not breathing, they had to put him on a respirator. He came home with me when I left the hospital (I made it to 37 weeks) Shortly after he came home I started to notice some weird things... he was puking up EVERYTHING, he dropped to under 4lbs and his birth weight was 8.13. He also snored so loudly I couldn’t believe that sound came out of a baby. He has severe sleep apnea and his GI system doesn't work, everything is there no abnormalities it just doesn't function. My cousin’s son one of two other boys in our family was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0... they caught it early and he has recovered with no longer term side effects the other boy is only 2 weeks old and so far so good. I guess why I'm so concerned about this is, I am divorced and remarrying May of 2013 and we both want a big family. I'm just concerned that this isn't all just a fluke and my family does not make healthy boys. I'm scared I'm going to have another chronically I'll child. I have one child with an autoimmune disease, my cousin’s son had a suspected auto immune disease and my fiancée has one, I feel like I’m asking for trouble. We also do not have a health history for my fiancée he was adopted from Korea when he was 4 months old. The only thing we do know is he has celiac disease. Thoughts??
