Habitat destruction is the main reason why wildlife is moving closer and closer to people. And of course, we as humans will see the wildlife as being a threat and then we kill them. Or, if we are in a "civilized" country will expect the government to put more laws in place to protect us and our children from this threat.
It was first the coyotes, now the deer, then it will be the squirrels, then the birds, then the bugs and then we will realize that we go out in our backyard, we listen and we hear nothing. Do you know how "Nothing" sounds like? It is the sound of us, The Mighty People, pushing all the animals on their way to extinction.
You say it's the deer population that continues to grow. Have you checked the world population lately? But of course, it is not politically correct to mention Overpopulation, so we put our head in the sand and pretend not to see the elephant in the room.
Check out this story on You Tube which says it best without any words: "The stork is a bird of war"

I say get rid of the illegals before our animals!! Unless their really causing damage like a raccoon breaking in a house, leave the animals alone!! Theres more important things to spend money on. They live hete too.
