If the billions of dollars in cuts are allowed to stand, Panetta said, he would have to throw the countryís national defense strategy ďout the window,Ē and the United States would no longer be a first-rate power.ďThis will badly damage our national defense and compromise our ability to respond to crises in a dangerous world,Ē Panetta said.

Targeted by the trigger-happy
The other day I made the mistake of engaging a teenage male in conversation while he was playing the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He was blasting away at helmeted soldiers in a landscape that looked like a bombed-out Los Angeles.
I asked him what his character was doing.''I'm shooting those guys,'' he said.
''Yes, I see,'' I said,''but who are they? What's your mission?''
''I don't know,'' he said,''I just have to shoot them. I'm in multiplayer'

My boy was stuck on that same game. Btw multiplayer is when you play other people online and your objective is to kill them before you they kill you. If you have a head set, you can talk shit to them as the game goes on. I thought nothing of it till all these damn school shootings were being discussed. Unfortunately there is a thing called "the ring of death" on an X-Box when it overheats.

Too bad for him... no more video games.

News Media Scrub Cop Murdererís Manifesto of Pro-Obama, Hillary, MSNBC, CNN, Gay, and Anti-Gun Comments

Iíve been following closely the news story about Chris Dorner, who is now suspected of murdering three people, including one police officer, and shooting another two police officers. He is targeting police and their families for what he says is a corrupt system that robbed him of his name and his life.

You can read all the details here.

However, I started noticing that some of the details the media was talking about didnít fit the released manifesto Iíve read everywhere. Especially interesting, is that KFIís morning news regurgitator Bill Handel had mentioned some pro-Obama comments and anti-NRA sentiments in the manifesto.

Öand as far as the federal deficit goes, itís not a problem any more. Thatís right, Republicans; itís not.

In 2009, a combination of stimulus and the worst recession in 80 years pushed the government to an unprecedented deficit of $1.4 trillion. But four years later, in 2013, we've made a lot of progress in stabilizing the deficit, which doesn't seem to be fully appreciated by those who continue to fret (and you know who you are). We had a $1.4 trillion deficit in 2009 (deficit as a % of GDP: 10.1%), but it has since come down by nearly a third, to $1.03 trillion (deficit as a % of GDP: 6.2%)

Two things have happened.

ē One is that the economy has gotten stronger. There are 4.7 million more people working today than there were in 2010, which increases tax revenue. And total federal spending has increased just marginally (less than 1%) since 2009 as stimulus spending tapers off. Put those two together, and you get a smaller deficit.

ē The second is the bigger change. It comes from two rounds of deficit-reduction bills Congress and the president hammered out over the last 18 months. The first was in 2011, when the Budget Control Act mandated a spending sequestration that begins this year. The second was the more recent fiscal-cliff negotiations, which raised tax rates on those earning more than $400,000 a year.
As a result of one and two, debt as a share of GDP is set to stabilize next year and decline until 2018.

Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan was a registered Muslim Democrat.
Columbine shooters Dylan Klebold's and Eric Harris' parents were registered Democrats.
Aurora, Colorado shooter James Holmes was a registered Democrat, he was a staff worker with the Obama campaign and was an 'Occupy' participant.
Newtown, Conn. shooter Adam Lanza was a registered Democrat who hated Christians.
Do your research.

I posted a link to an article a couple of days ago that went through these claims and disproved them and explained where this all started.

The idea that recent mass shooters are mostly registered Democrats is a myth

http://www.examiner.com/article/the-idea-that...

I know it's become a favorite theory of the far right, but it simply isn't true.

Fact is most mass shooters have had one thing in common. They share a far right ideology.

yeah, we GET it. what u are talking about is the GOVERNMENT doing the picking of winners and losers in the business world.
'nationalizing' industry to achieve desired 'social' goals.
put the TWO together and u get the ultimate Progressive society: National Socialism. Nazi's. Hitler's Germany.
exactly what Hitler & Co. used to grow a BROKE nad demoralized nation during the 30's. the Reich did no tolerate differing views, either. it managed 'undesireable' costs and behaviour AND PEOPLE very well, didn't IT?
let's see, fiscally, as a nation, we ARE broke. reading the posts JUST on this thread, I'd say WE, as a People, are well on the way to being demoralized (in more ways than one!). the PERFECT combo to give birth to ????
MORE stimulus spending? the SAME BS was said about FDR's FAILED solutions to the GREAT Depression!
posters like YOU preach Federal Govt as IF it were the ONLY form of government in a Union of FIFTY sovereign States. as if IF the FG got OUT of the social safety net business, there would be a vacumn!
there was NO vacumn BEFORE 1964 or 1935. what there was WAS NO BIG BROTHER FG.
Big Brohter-govt MIGHT works for some pissant, small pop, homogeneous country like any of the European nations. BUT, have you looked at the state of the EU lately? OR any of the bigger countries with a GROWING DIVERSE population?
History is AGAINST your POV, period. you are either just TOO stubborn or ???? to admit it.
hurry, hurry, hurry...
The most successful economies in the world have a significant manufacturing component. We let ours go to h*ll in a hand basket but are currently working toward reversing the situation - IF we don't kill the consumer component of the benefit.

While our market has certainly been impacted (the EU being a material market for our product) by a lack of demand, we still have our own consumers for whom we can produce for sale, and that's what we should be targeting. I don't mean protectionism, I mean stimulating our own economy. But, if you take disposable income away from consumers, manufacturers have no impetus to increase production, hire folks and invest here at home because they don't have a strong market - no incentive. Since globalization got underway, if the buyers are overseas, they'll produce overseas to keep costs lower, profit higher. Any economic policy that harms the consuming public won't help grow the economy, i.e., increasing taxes on the middle-class, cutting dollars available to spend in the low income sectors. Those low income earners spend essentially everything they take in. The highest income earners are not a significant component of consumers. They're the savers and investors, but they won't invest in businesses if the market for the goods they produce isn't there. Instead, they'll invest their capital elsewhere in the world or park it overseas in tax havens which does nothing to help this economy.

Now, if you'd like to "educate" me, go right ahead and correct me with facts. I'm liberal leaning enough that I'm open to learning something new. We used to have a poster who was an excellent resource and non-judgmental.

Still, I have no idea how you connect the dots you do to assign blame to "diverse populations". Diversity is a strength, not a liability, and I have zero interest in playing the "blame" game pointing fingers at "diverse populations". I'd attribute the problem to lousy governing and short-sightedness, a problem not limited to Europe. China has grown a booming middle class while concurrently decimating the environment and quality of life in their industrial regions. It appears that they'll have more "stuff" but die much sooner as a result of toxic air and water pollution.

You're simply wrong pal and so is your 'article'. From presidential assassins to gangs to mass murderers, they are 'almost' exclusively liberals. The ex-cop on the rampage in LA is just one more example.

I dare say, you haven't read every single one of my previous posts, so it's completely unnecessary to play this little competition game of who posts "interesting" comments. It's childish, and just about EVERYONE has and does post off topic now and then.
I find the subject here pretty boring and exhausted, so I post what I want and when I want.
From time to time I'm an off topic kind of gal myself.
