Second? Some would say it never ended. Voila!

The Battle of Hastings had a tremendous influence on the English language. The Normans were French-speaking, and as a result of their rule, they introduced many French words that started in the nobility and eventually became part of the English language itself.[Wikipedia]

We do have a French influence but Anglo Saxons are German really.

England and Germany have the most in common.

I find German has influenced English language and culture more than the French.

they weren't FRENCH, they were NORMANS and therefore originally from Scandinavia. It is similar to modern French which gives the wrong impression. It was the language they developed during a few hundred years living in Normandy.

apart from all that, the sooner the police move these crusties out of their trees the better. Have you even seen anything more polluting than a crusty encampment?

Everyone in the environmental movement already knows who we are the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (also known as the Enfield Eight)

Are they related to the gang of eight?

to call crusties "working class" is strange, these putrid slackers have never worked in their lives. But where does tha money for drugs and tattoos come from? and are unwashed dreadlocks environmentally friendly?

Eco system is very important for any habitat. In this race of materialism, we have collectively made this world an unhealthy place for ourselves. In order to pay back what we owe to earth , we need to use the eco friendly products like http://corrupal.com/ to keep the earth safer and cleaner. We have to take responsibility and we are the ones who are responsible for anything that happens to the earth.

We don't "owe" the earth. The earth is unable to participate in human economic transactions, unable to maintain a balance sheet, unable to incur liabilities and unable to collect debts.

Oh, I'd like to use you as the poster child for the Marxist influence in the Global Warming faith. "Working class UNITE!" and all that. Go solidarity! Whooya!

"French" comes from Franks, which dominated almost all western Europe during the reign of Charles the Great. Franks were a confederation of german tribes.

French influenced the British gentry, as you can see with the motto of the English monarchs "Dieu et mon droit" or the motto of the Order of the Garter, "Honi soit qui mal y pense".

English syntax is closer to the French one, German syntax being closer to latin, both Romans and German place the most important part of their sentences at the end of the sentence, some way to oblige listeners to wait for its end to fully undertand it. Germans will construct their sentences such as "in the street I walk", circumstances at first, verb last.

Anglo-Saxon is a modern concept, forged after the English Royal family coming from the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Before, you will not find in the English litterature any "Anglo-Saxon".
"Anglo-Saxon" is fictional.

Rubbish.
Stick to French, because English history isn't your best subject, even with Google to help you.

The problem is how much a population could massively migrate by ships from Frisian coasts to England, that's unknown, so that only some extensive DNA Brit population study could tell wether saxon or so-called came as small invasion troops or some as some kind of massive tribal exodus.
