some info

2012 annual temps from October 2011 thru November 2012 compared to various time periods.

As compared to the entire record..44*C warmer in 2012 than the average of the 1881 to 2012 record. Less than on half of a degree.
http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_...

As compared to the 30 years 1951 to 1980..46*C warmer in 2012 than the average of the 1951 to 1980 time period. Less than one half of one degree.

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_...

They call the 1959 to present period the 'space age'. Here's 2012 compared to the space age time period..26* warmer in 2012 than the average temperature of the space age.

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_...

The satellite time period. 1979 to present. 2012 is .14* warmer than the average of the years in the satellite period.

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_...

Since 1995, it has been reported many times that our warming has abated since 1995. Here's 2012 compared to the average of the years 1995 to 2012. 2012 is .01*C warmer than the average of the years 1995 to 2012.

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_...

It may be warmER than the past, but it doesn't appear to be warmING much anymore.

We are just coming out of the coldest period in the last 500 MILLION years. The average temperature for the past half billion years has been 10-15 degrees higher.

Half degree fluctuations go on constantly. Why? Solar activity is one reason, volcanic explosion is another.

We had a super-volcanic eruption in 1815 (Mt Tambora). We have had several smaller ones since. Mt St Helens put more sulfuric oxide in the atmosphere than all factories since 1700.

yes, global warming...or, just a continuation of the ice age? Nothing left from the ice age except the ice at the poles...hmmmmm

You're living in a period which is FAR colder than the overall past average. We are still coming out of an ice age and have periods of high temps (The Altithermal Period 8000 years ago, when palm trees grew in England) and some much colder (The Little Ice Age from 1300 to 1750, which killed the grapes and fruit trees growing in Scotland).

Ice caps grow and shrink. The Kilimanjaro ice cap shrank in much of the 20th century, but is growing again. The polar ice cap is not always present. When Bellinghausen first went through the Bering Straits, he saw no ice in the Arctic Ocean. The ice on one side of Greenland is shrinking, but is growing on the other side.

It would be perfectly natural if the temps rose to their old, much higher figures, but that's thousands of years away.

Research? You have no idea what it is. Without science and mathematics, you have no tools to criticize the IPCC reports.
You are dumb liar 24/7/365.
Then it is a good thing I have one degree in science and am about to acquire a second degree with a minor in math. Which requires research for the various thesis I have to write.

As for running, the only thing you seem to run from is the facts sir.

I have also noticed that your posts have degraded to being nothing more than personal attacks and general tantrums. Could this be because you have nothing else to offer?

How about the last four? They all had serious errors with the AR4 nearly resulting in the head of the group being let go.

Given the history of the IPCC reports, can you offer any proof that this one isn't as full as the rest? That the UN actually got something right given the history of the UN's screw ups.

What you ask is not a legitimate science question. Whether you accept it or not, manmade global warming is raging as a fact.
Voluntarist did ask you a simple math/science question. Was the earth warmer of cooler than now.

As for man made global warming, hardly a scientific fact. The simple truth is many of the pillars that supported the tehory have been disproven. CO2 for example rises as a result of the temperature not because which makes CO2 an effect and not a cause. The fact that earth has been far warmer than now in the past is another fact.

Man made global warming has more of the features of a religion than science. Including those who believe dispite a lack of proof to support it or even in the face of facts that disprove it.

takes care of this standard denier question: How does the Medieval Warm Period compare to current global temperatures?
The conclusions are:
a) Globally temperatures are warmer than they have been during the last 2000 years, and
b) the causes of Medieval warming are not the same as those causing late 20th century warming.
Do you have a reliable source to back that claim or is the only source the National Enquirer of the enviromental set aka Skepticalscinece. com which is run by a physics major who was so wacky that he could not find anyone to hire him as a scientist.

You have duck for dinner.

A sure sign that an alarmist has nothing better to say than when they claim that someone is a paid poster for the fossil fuel industry (aka theri version of selling your soul to the devil).

Like I said before, for you this is more a religion than science.

I love duck but that was not the subject.

You know nothing of science or math so your words mean absolutely nothing of significance.

I don't remember anybody claiming you being a paid poster. You keep bringing it up when others are discussed. Pitiful.

Yes, and those records are proof that I was right. I have posts that even included simple science experiments that one could do at home.

But your right that Topix has to proof that I am right and that you lack an education in science and math. Although one could use those same records to prove that you are mentally unbalanced and are in need of medical intervention.

So you claim. Yet you seem to lack in the proof department. And as for the statement of no one ever claiming I was a paid poster, lets just chalk that up to your less than perfect memory.

I also like to bring it up every time someone like you uses it to claim that someone else who you disagree with and cannot seem to debunk. The fact is that you have used just such a claim against others in a hope of discrediting them. Which must make my post pointing out that you do this every time you have nothing else annoying to you. After all it points out that for all intents and purposes that you have lost another verbal sparring match.
