My wife says that they call these beetles Mayate's in Mexico, that when she was little her grandfather use to catch them and tie sewing thread between the neck and wings and they would fly in circles for a long time till they would get tired.

It's a tar baby. You can't say any of those words anymore. The Liverpool FC has issued a banned list and it's available now. We all need to heed their sensitivities.
