The rhino beetles in my particular dot on the map (found on an overgrown abandoned rail line verge with footpath along the line)... are about 1.5cm long with the classic rhino horn on the front & the typical shiny dark brown. Last one of those I found was at the base of a mature ash tree grown back from a cluster of cut stems into a pressure welding trunk cluster each about 60cm thick.
This one is from description a little over twice the size of the local yokels.
Be interesting to see around if the weather improves over the coming winters.
Have a nice day: Ag
