How about creating a solution to the old houses light switches? in old houses there are rarely built in lights, but instead just wall switches that control a wall outlet, forcing home users to use that particular plug for the light. However you could make a project that plugs a rf transmitter into that wall outlet and a receiver that plugs into another wall outlet, when the receiver activates( power was turned on to it) it will transmit the rf signal to the receiver to activate its wall socket( the receiver would have its own built in socket). basically this requires simple rf communication, and the ability turn on/off power fets to allow high voltage/current to flow. I would also recommend built in fuses or some other type of over voltage/over current protection circuit for each the receiver and transmitter.

Hmm. You can also opt for topics like :

Safety and Hazard Analysis in Engineering Companies.

You can do research for that certain topic and there are a lot of sites that you can make it as your resource.

Hi, I really like this project: http://www.youtube.com/watch... but you can always do a search on youtube to find more ideas. Also I can recommend you to use www.pentalogix.com software they have a nice free gerber file reader. And if you're gonna go serious with using stencils or other PCB stuff this website has nice prices: www.pcbunlimited.com

Good luck!
