Could not have happened to a more deserving individual. One of the most evil human beings ever known. Business savvy? Yes, Smart? Yes, Money Monger? Yes-
Good person?? <-- Which is really the only thing that matters in the end? Absolutely NOT! Rotten to the core...

I'm sad to see him go, and even sadder to see any disparaging comments in this thread. None of us are perfect, we are flawed especially those of us who are the most driven.
I worked very closely with Ivan. I remember the ups and downs. He was shrewd, volatile, boisterous, unpredictable, humorous and one of the more interesting personalities i've had the pleasure working with.
I respect the man and have very fond memories, may he rest peacefully.

Dear Old Employee... obvious you feel bitter but really? He's gone and these are the kind words you have? I feel sorry for you... it's only a matter before you pass and hopefully someone has something good to say about you.

You should be ashamed of yourself for writing such an awful post, how dare you. You should remove it immediately. I was extremely proud to have for Ivan. May be rest in peace.

Not even remotely ashamed. The man was a menacing self serving animal. No one should be the least bit surprised that he died of cancer. The beauty of this whole thing is that he had to lay there - Mr. Tough guy who thought he was made of teflon- he was forced to reflect on how he treated his employees and family. He was a liar, cheat and abuser. He got pleasure out of inflicting pain on others. SHAME ON HIM AND SHAME ON YOU FOR SUPPORTING SUCH A MAN. I will NOT remove this- EVER! Ask all the employees he FIRED! Just because he died, he did not suddenly turn into a saint. You all HATED this man every day. You stayed because he PAID you to and no other reason. He had NO FRIENDS. Just business deals. What a pathetic excuse for a 'man'.

This man was a very poor excuse for decency. Never gave anything to anyone. I find it amazing that for the most part, employees feared this man. That is not equal to respect. He was a tirant and abuser. He lied on a daily basis to get what he wanted. He was not who he portrayed himself to be. Not by a long shot. Lost the biggest lawsuit fight of his life which is what really killed him. Losing was not anything Pesic was good at, but did often. In the end, he lost his life.
No one ever had anything good to say about a money maker with ice in his veins.

I see some are speaking the truth here. Agreed he was an awful person. And it's ironic that this same man would have made fun of someone (he didn't like) for getting cancer. If I remember correctly he fired someone who was currently battling cancer or at leaset the aftermath of cancer, thereby denying her medical insurance. I wonder if his daughter's employer fired her on the day her father died? That sure would be ironic.
I think the best way to describe this man as an employer was 'those who giveth, taketh away'. He was really good at holding people hostage- loaning money and then keeping them prisoner to the loan- giving a job and then threatening to take it away- bringing them to the US and then booting them out of the country with a minutes notice.
As a business man, he knew how to make himself money- as a human being, complete epic failure. I often wondered if Karma was real- now I know it is. I'm so glad his bad reckless driving didn't take him out- instead it was a long term illness that forced him to reflect on who he was a person and who he was NOT.
Also, wonder if he took care of those that were so loyal?! I think some of those should be ashamed for imposing themselves. Wonder if the dirty water was exposed? Hope so. Can't ever wash that shame off. And life goes on- and they are all free now.
