Who the heck cares how fat they are? Deino was faster, smarter, more agile, and has razor sharp claws that can slice flesh like butter.

The tiger is much more powerful, being the largest cat in the world, so i do believe a tiger could kill Deinonychus faster than u think.

OK, it's out. Also, I think I'm underestimating the largest cat in the world. But as I said B4, if deino' gets on the tigers back, it can rip through arteries and tear spinal cords and such, but still, 1 swipe of tiger's claws, and raptor is dead TIGER meat. :P

Hmm. Some interesting arguments. Still, it bears even more scrutiny.
It seems to me, one-on-one, a Deinonychus would need to latch onto the tiger with its jaws and front claws, while kicking forward with the rear claws. But this would be lethally effective against a tiger only if the Deinonychus could get inside the tiger's four legs and disembowel the tiger.
Big cats also are known to use this kind of killing move against larger prey. However, the Deinonychus would have to avoid the tiger's forepaws, which are longer,*much* stronger, and have huge claws. Not to mention, the tiger could also use it's powerful back claws against the Deinonychus.
The Deinonychus' greatest weapon is its 12cm foot claws, the tiger is equipped with up to four slightly longer claws on each front foot and slightly shorter claws in each back foot. While the front claws on the Deinonychus are long and sharp, the arms to which they are attached are spindly and weak compared to a tiger--they would be useful holding prey, but would inflict limited damage. Tiger claws are used for both.
The little dinosaur would also have to avoid the tiger's 8cm dagger-like teeth, powered by jaws much more powerful than the little dino, and more than capable of crushing any portion of the Deinonychus it could get ahold of.
In short, I think that it would be a fluke for a Deinonychus to take out a tiger, but a tiger could easily kill a Deinonychus. However, a pack of Deinonychus would be a different story. Even today, tigers will flee before packs of Dholes, Asia's fearless wild dogs.
And, Utahraptor vs. tiger? That would take more careful analysis based on measured biomechanical information to which most of us don't have access. In reality, I think a tiger would run from a Utahraptor, as most sensible creatures would.

I must use this opportunity to point out that Deinonycus only reached about 3ft in height, about up to a human hip. Length is deceiving, many dinosaurs are shorter than we think. Allosaurus 8ft and even Sue was a mere 12ft at the hips

Anyway im gonna make a story just for the satisfaction =P.And just to mention i put both in same place and same time because they each lived like 70 mya apart.Oh and by the way just to give both an advantage or to make sure its a fair match,i placed it in a mini jungle since from what I watched and read, deinonychus and tiger was also alright hunting in a forest. And i dont really know how to spell deinonychus A lone adult siberian tiger is looking for a meal.He smells a corpse but does not realize its not alone. He spots a lone deinonychus eating the meat.He charges but the deinonyonchus saw him first and side steppped out of the way.Deinonyonchus bites tiger in the neck and gripping onto the tiger for about 2 seconds until the tiger shakes him off.The tiger is now wounded. The tiger enraged, attacks deinyonchus and his paws swipes deinonyonchus's arm.Deinonychus runs away trying to escape tiger and the tiger chases him. Then the deinonychus jumps and lands his sickle claw into tigers arm.Tigers wound on the neck now starts to blur tigers vision and make tiger stagger. When he was staggering he rammed deinonychus into a tree and bites it in the head shaking it around until deinonychus dies.
WINNER:TIGER

Troodon is comparable to other advanced deinonychosaurs, such as Deinonychus. They are at least on par with modern Crows. Crows are superior in many 'intelligence' aspects than felids.
Intelligence is a non-argument.
But the Tiger outweighing the Deinonychus 3-fold certainly is!

The Tiger would win, bigger, stronger, and deadlier. The Deinonychus is also dumber than a Komodo Dragon, which is as smart as the tiger.

Ignore him guys. But i know Tiger would win easily often than not. I don't see that 73 kg dromaeosaurid could kill around 3 times heavier and much more powerful animal.

I already said Tiger would win, it's smarter, faster, more agile, stronger, bigger, and smarter. A Deinonychus is way dumber than a Komodo Dragon, but a Tiger's intelligence is close to the Dragon, the tiger is also close to some primates in intelligence.
