Who would win?
T-REX
Lenght 13 meters
Height 4 meters at da hips
Weight 7 tons

TARBOSAURUS
Lenght 12 meters
Height 3,75 meters at da hips
Weight 6 tons

Surely T-Rex was stronger, but Tarbosaurus was faster, both they were both tyrannosauridae & tyrannosaurinae, only 1 a bit larger & heavier than other. Surely they had da same feeding strategy

I think somebody tried to tackle this one already. If we're going to continue to do these (in my opinion) silly a vs b topics, can we at least avoid duplication?

Ah, your just rooting for the one that comes closest to being a home town favorite.

Seroiously, there's not much difference between the two.

I reckon they're the same genus.

They've been listed that way before. The potential merger of these two into a single genus seems to come up periodicly, and then gets dropped again.

Then again, we don't even have a firm meaning of species, so if one is agreed upon, then the result might be different. Does anyone know what made scientists believe they were different genuses?

Slightly different ages, and different known ranges probably, coupled with not having one team look at the similarities and differences between the two.

Could you explain that last bit?

When Tarbosaurus was initially described, the main thing that stopped the russian scientists that made the discovery from raising a new species of Tyrannosaurus was the distance between the two localities. For further details on this, look at the Tarbosaurus entry at www.dinodata.org .

Perhaps we do. Are you here incognito, and if so, why?

The differences in skulls doesn't sound very convincing to me. If the dinosaur was just another species, then that would be inevitable. I don't think that size or such a minute difference should be enough to distinguish them as different genuses.

well they both culd OWN any other dinosaurs incuding gigantosaurus
mapusaurus acrocanthosaurus chrcharadontosaurus and spinosaurus but sine the t rex is maybe bigger only by a milameter and stronger if I was betting money I would put it on t rex or they tie.

He maybe a fanboy but I actually agree on the idea that t.rex would have the advanatge over all other theropods. However I don't think it would totally own them, theres always the possiblity that another could by chance kill t.rex!
