I think a pack of Troodon with 7 members could probably take down a Maiasaura.

I agree because if you look at troodon its not made to go after big prey like the other members of its family. Troodon was probably catching prey equal to or smaller then it self.

The Troodon were very agile and smart, so they probably would not get hurt, but Miasaura is a big animal. To kill big animals, you need to be big too, or you need to have extremely good weapons (like a big killing claw). Since Troodon did not have either of these, I doubt a pack could take down a 3 ton Miasaura.

Someone's been watching too much Diego.( little kid's show about animals, if you don't know )

Just kidding. Seriously, the troodons are just too small and lack any serious weaponry. The jaws are pretty weak and the killing claw is not very large. All the maiasaura has to do is rampage and swing it's tail.

Why do you guys hate Troodon so much? What did it ever do to you?

We don't hate it, we are being scientific. Troodon had positive features like being almost as smart as a cat (was it?) and some incredibly sharp teeth. However, it simply didn't have any serious weaponry. The killing claw was not very big and probaly couldn't inflict nasty wounds ( in my opinion dromaesaurs stabbed and possibly climbed with them, not slice ), and the teeth, although incredibly sharp, are too small and don't have enough power behind them. Maisasaura also lacks a heavy arsenal but it's brute strength, tail, heavy body, and the ability to take a good deal of punishment means it's probaly going to come out alive.

Well, Troodon's sickle claw may not have been very big compared to that of dromaeosaurs, but at least it had one. Troodon is intelligent, has sharp teeth, and a killing claw. Maiasaura's only weapons are its size, strength, and whip-like tail. A pack of Troodons could probably bring a Maiasaura down. While Maiasaura is much bigger than the Troodons, its defenses are paltry compared to the sharp teeth and claws of the predators. A pack of Troodons would probably be able to kill a Maiasaura. Troodon was 10 feet long, and Maiasaura was 20 feet long. Troodon was about half the size of Maiasaura. A pack of four or five could easily take a Maiasaura down.

It may have had sharp teeth, but they were small and the jaws were weak. I don't think troodon was anywhere near the size of the maisasaura.( spinodont says size=mass, not length or height ) The killing claw would have been nearly useless against an animal that much bigger and could only have been used to get a better grip. Also, maisasaura was considerably less fragile than troodon.

D00D are you on drugs? Cocaine? Tro÷don was uh, 8 ft at the most, my dear druggie. Maisaura is bigger than you think, too, 30 ft. Packs are NONEXISTANT, Druggie! Lol, sickleclaw is gonna do something? Yeah, thought so.......

Maiasaura:
-GIGANTIC SIZE ADVANTAGE
-Much, Much, Much, MUCH stronger.....
- Powerful tail.

Troodon:
-uh..........

Considering Troodon is a mammal hunter (though it may have hunted maiasaura eggs)and as such adapted to hunt mammals, I don't think there would have been a conflict: maiasaura would just outright scare them with his/her size.

Yeah I doubt that even a large pack of Troodons would attempt to take down a Miasaura

Why do all of you guys think that Troodon was an omnivorous push-over, that only took down tiny lizards? It was a freaking BIG GAME HUNTER, damn it!

Spinoraptor,I know you're a Troodon fan but sometimes you must accept the facts.Troodon is a nocturnal small mammals hunter, egg stealer, and sometimes SMALL game hunter,of all dinosaurs,it could only hunt herbivores at the same size, smaller carnivores and babies,in a pack it would only hunt things half as big as a Maiasaura. The titanic Herbivore is just too massive,I don't think Troodon would ever dare attack Maiasaura.
