1 on 1?Giga will probably win,I think it is more heavily built and those jaws look more robust. They are pretty similar.

Id say mapusaurus would win because if it was capable of taking large prey (argintinosaurus)

And guess what, Giganotosaurus was adapted to it as well.

Giganotosaurus will win! they dominated the South america! even Ekrixinatosaurus are scared to incounter the Giganotosaurus, and Giganotosaurus hunts in packs because their natural prey is the Argentinasaurus and every pack has an Alpha Male!!.....but the bad thing is Giganotosaurus is not yet completely known, only two adult specimens are found.....And They!! say giga would exceeded in size because of its Prey and its Enviroment!!...and some biologist studied the Gigas bite force!!, and after years of studying Gigas bite force is not really weak at all its only 9,000 newtons less than the T-rex bite force, its bite force is strong because of the size of its head and its upper and lower jaw but the problem is gigas neck is not made for controlling all the muscles in its neck unlike those tyrannosaurids had a short neck and made for controlling all the muscles in its neck thats why Tyrannosaurids deliever a fatal blow!!.......

Hunting in packs is just a theory no proof yet,
yep only 2 specimens were found MUCPv-CH1 and MUCPv-95, the former about 12.5 m long and the latter about 13 m long. biologists study giga's bite force??? never heard of that but G.carolinii's bite force is estimated some where between 1.5-2.5 tons, T.rex could exceed a 9-ton bite. Well the problem here is the muscle yes, G.carolinii's skull has small fenestrae indicating not ver large jaw muscles but I don't see why the length of the neck could effect a bite, but heck the is Giga vs Mapusaurus so don't go offtopic

Mapusaurus hunted in a pack made of at least 7 individuals. But to make things fair, let us make it one on one. Giganotosaurus carolinii lived 2 million years before Mapusaurus roseae. But it probably managed to survive to compete with Mapusaurus and hunt the third largest animal on the land: Argentinosaurus. Both had 3-clawed hands that can swing with wrecking-ball force and scissor-action mouths. Giga may be stronger and bulkier, which gave its' descendant Mapu the reason to trade all those for speed, agility, and intelligence. If an individual Mapusaurus encounters a Giganotosaurus, it is dead meat. But there is no such thing as fighting fair back then, so a Giga can only kill a Mapu that was separated from its' pack. So at most, a Giga running towards a Mapu pack will be the dead meat. But no matter, whatever catastrophe happened 93 million years ago (in which the extinction of Argentinosaurus took part of) will end the vicious rivalry between 'father and son'.

Giga would win. I mean 3rd biggest carnivore vs 6th biggest carnivore.
Obvious mismacth in favor of Giga, due to it's size and knife-like teeth.

Really? The blue whale is the largest carnivore ever, then the moby dick then the megalodon then the sperm, I can go on and on and not even reach spinosaurus(say largest carnivouris dinosaur)so how would giga be the third?if the meg is three to four times bigger than it?-_-

Probably Giganotosaurus. Mapusaurus was little longer, but it was more gracile, so Giganotosaurus would win.

No need to be dumb, Moby Dick is just a Dick and were talking about Land animals, go on topic.
No need to worship Spino, Giga is the 3rd largest land carnivore and Mapu is the 6th largest land carnivore.
And please use GRAMMAR. And the Livyatan is bigger than the Sperm whale, learn and post, easy.

Mapusaurus is known from a Pubic Shaft 10% larger than the same bone in the Giganotosaurus holotype. But again, not as bulky, so similar overall size.
