Will any part of the new facility honor the three Caltech students who committed suicide last academic year?

Probably not. Caltech likes to sweep such things under the rug.

Someday, one of their students is going to have an episode like that which happened in the UCLA organic chemistry lab. Someone is going to go nuts.

At Caltech, the mental health of the students is maintained pharmaceutically. I've been to their student health center, and was prescribed almost a dozen different drugs for depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, suicidal thoughts.

Strange, though, how all of those symptoms subsided as soon as I graduated from Caltech. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. Students are dying. Many are inadequately treated.

This is not the gleaming ivory tower Caltech likes to think of itself as.
Seriously

Seriously. Given the 3 suicides in 3 months and the layoff of 100 people you would think it would be more important to save student lives and jobs. Nope. It is more important to build another building and pretend that you care. Good going President Chameau. Way to prioritize.
