NWA flyers fret over the move to SkyMiles

Some air travelers are bracing themselves for the next transition in the Delta-Northwest merger - the melding of the frequent-flier programs.

All I can get for my 120.000 miles are flights or magazine subscriptions. Arg. Redemption for giftcrads etc would be nice.

My big question/fear - if you already have a Delta account, will your NWA miles be transfered to that account, or will they go into a new Delta account? That would leave you with two Delta accounts and, I'm assuming, an inability, or at least a real hassle, merging the accounts. NWA & Delta encouraged "merging" accounts this summer on line but I tried at least 20 times and the application never worked. A Delta rep on the phone told me they had "technical" problems and the process had basically been cancelled. Sounds like a cluster to me

I'm very disappointed Delta selected American Express as the credit card linked to mileage. I had one at one time and vowed never to get another......their loss

A while back Delta was having people with accounts in both airlines tie the two together. You should call Delta and find out how to do that.
