Can anyone tell me what country was named after an element, and provide me with a source for this information?

*note*- the country must be named after the element, not the other way around.

Thanks!

It's Argentina, from the Latin Argentum, meaning Silver. Thus Silver on the Periodic Table of the Elements is Ag.
