I was sitting up on at my friends porch having a beer at her house in La Selva overlooking the ocean. I think it lasted about 5 seconds! We thought it was going to keep going and land in the ocean. We also saw a few airplanes small ones and larger commercial jets, Im sure they had quite a show too!

Name your city or town. <quoted text> pssst? 1 mile from santa cruz city limits in any direction pretty much puts you in the county (or in the bay). 1 mile east is the area known as Live Oak. 1 mile north or west would just be 'county'. But don't let reality intervene with your hate.

I'm not surprised that people called 911. I've heard of people calling when there order was wrong after going through a fast food drive through.

Yes it's a fantastic website, and you can sign up for email alerts so you will never miss another meteor shower again! Weather permitting, that is...
