Santa Cruz does not have mountains only hills. The meth heads in these hills spend allot of time hallucinating. Hard for them to tell reality from delusions. Why some are direct descendants of Mountain Charlie! Did he really have part of his skull made from melted pesos after the grizzly gnawed on him? Sounded plausible after a jug of whiskey and a card game.

We saw it as we drove out Mission Street. The smoke trail stayed for a very long time indicating it was something very different.

ZERO crime in santa cruz county people! WOOOO! Only a few stray interplanetary rocks and ice chunks spooking the mountain folk to report here...no stabbings, shootings, rapings, beatings, robberies, or shady dealings going on in these parts...no sir!

Here's a photo of the smoke trail, taken in Campbell:
http://tinyurl.com/ykkd38j
According to http://spaceweather.com/
"The fireball may have been a piece of periodic Comet 2P/Encke. Right now, Earth is passing through a stream of debris from the comet, and this is causing the annual Taurid meteor shower, which peaks between Nov. 5th and 12th. The display usually produces no more than about 5 meteors per hour, but what it lacks in number, it makes up for in dazzle. Taurids tend to be fireballs, bright enough to be seen even in twilight skies. At the time of the Bay Area fireball, the constellation Taurus was rising in the east, so the fireball's identification as a Taurid seems probable, albeit not certain."

Oh, FFS.

And what do you think it was, then? A UFO being shot down by the "gub-mint"? Your tinfoil hat is on too tight.
