Would it be something like: nishwaaswi ndawema (8 sisters)? They have a legend of eight dancing maidens.
Are could it be nishwaaswi onagocag or neither? |

1 But there's a North American Indian legend about the Pleiades where a group of maidens (not sure if there were 7 or 8 of them) were pursued by a bear. According to the legend, they were placed out of harm's way (in the sky) In Wyoming, the legend includes the mountain 'Devil's Tower'- the Indians in that area (Kiowa???) believe the marks on the side of Devil's Tower are the bear's claw marks as it tried to pursue them into the sky. |
