"Ironically, Zwicky's attempt to neutralize turbulent air with a firearm was decades ahead of its time. Today, according to documents in the NMMSH archives, the Starfire Optical Range at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, uses lasers "to remove the effects of atmospheric turbulence.""
Only someone who doesn't really understand how the lasers are used would try to equate the two.

The new Caltech MR12 Supercomputer was christened "Zwicky" in honor of Fritz Zwicky and Kip Thorne championed this effort.
