Why would they/rabbis teach and support a behaviour that they deem wrong?
They see nothing wrong with it and so why would they not indulge?
Who teaches the flock of Judahites that the bible does not speak against women eating and SERVICING each other? RABBIS. why?
Straw argument. I never said what behavior the rabbis supported - what I was asking was what the sin of sodomy was. I.E. what is the lesson of the passage.

You are getting confused, partly because, within these posts, I am also straying into the issue of homophobia.

Meanwhile, in "There is no compulsion in religion" Egypt,

Egyptian court sentences Christian family to 15 years for converting from Islam
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/01/16/egypt...

The 15-year prison sentence given to a woman and her seven children by an Egyptian court for converting to Christianity is a sign of things to come, according to alarmed human rights advocates who say the nation's Islamist government is bad news for Christians in the North African country.

A criminal court in the central Egyptian city of Beni Suef meted out the shocking sentence last week, according to the Arabic-language Egyptian paper Al-Masry Al-Youm. Nadia Mohamed Ali, who was raised a Christian, converted to Islam when she married Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab Mustafa, a Muslim, 23 years ago. He later died, and his widow planned to convert her family back to Christianity in order to obtain an inheritance from her family. She sought the help of others in the registration office to process new identity cards between 2004 and 2006. When the conversion came to light under the new regime, Nadia, her children and even the clerks who processed the identity cards were all sentenced to prison.

Samuel Tadros, a research fellow at Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom, said conversions like Nadia's have been common in the past, but said Egypt's new Sharia-based constitution "is a real disaster in terms of religion freedom.”
...
said Jordan Sekulow, executive director of the American Center for Law and Justice. "This is another tragic case that underscores the growing problem of religious intolerance in the Muslim world. To impose a prison sentence for a family because of their Christian faith sadly reveals the true agenda of this new government: Egypt has no respect for international law or religious liberty.”

In short, homosexual conduct.
Excerpt: The Mosaic Law has two explicit citations on homosexuality. Leviticus 18:22 says, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female. It is an abomination [toebah]." Leviticus 20:13 says, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act [toebah]. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood guiltiness is upon them."
In case you missed the nuance, I was referring to genesis, not leviticus.

The after the fact interpretations note the obvious, i.e. those passages from leviticus. But if you go back to the passage in genesis that Huggy is hung up on, there are several negative behaviors by the people of sodom (rape, incest, violence, inhospitality), and someone looking at the passage from a less homophobic lens might just as easily note the other negative behaviors just as well as THE cardinal sin that pushed the community over the edge.

Honestly, I dont know why some of the people on this forum cant get this. I guess homophobia has deep roots.

Thats one interpretation - and from Christian tradition
One of the common Jewish interpretations notes thematic continuity of an earlier theme - that of hospitality, as represented by Abraham and the three angels.
What I was calling attention to was that nowhere in the primary text of that series of passages does it call homosexuality as an abomination, or even a sin. And as we know, the term sodomite (meaning one who does anal intercourse), isnt even in the narrative.
Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 are from Hebrew tradition, and they clearly call homosexuality, as in a man lying with another man as he would with a woman, an abomination that "surely" will be punished with death for the two offenders.

The link that I posted explores the "hospitality" argument, and rejects it as a dodge. To conclude that Sodom and Gomorrah are burned to the ground with all of their resident men, women, and children incinerated because some louts were inhospitable to Lot's angellic visitors, is absurdly insulting to YHWH!

But, many, if not most Jews, consider that article a dodge. It doesnt add any new evidence to the issue.

Its a matter of interpretation and opinion

Rephrased questions for your benefit.

1. Do your rabbis support homosexuality?
2. Do your rabbis think that homosexuality is wrong?
3. Do your rabbis teach that Lesbian sex is not condemned in scriptures?

Original questions below.

Why would they/rabbis teach and support a behaviour that they deem wrong?
They see nothing wrong with it and so why would they not indulge?
Who teaches the flock of Judahites that the bible does not speak against women eating and SERVICING each other? RABBIS. why?

!
and there are passages that also call incest, rape, violence, and inhospitality wrong as well.

We are back to the shellfish vs homosexuality issue. Which is a "worse" prohibition to violate? Its a matter of what you want to dwell on.

How about we dwell on what actually necessitated YHWH incinerating Sodom and Gomorrah? My guess is that it wasn't a flagrant and enduring violation of the shellfish prohibition. Umm, is that a capital offense?

As ever.

The point is this: Jews who want to make allowances for homosex would rather not take their own Scripture at face value, imo. Rather, for them it's all "a matter of interpretation and opinion."

the question I posed wayback is what was the sin of sodom?
Now my question to you is this what was their abominations?

Ezekiel 16:49-51

49 Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.

51 “Samaria did not commit half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all the abominations which you have done.

Excerpts from the Gospel of Barnabas, Part-33

Chapter 69 Jesus heals the demonic

…And when Jesus had said this, there was brought to him a demoniac who could not speak nor see, and was deprived of hearing. Whereupon Jesus, seeing their faith, raised his eyes to heaven and said: "Lord God of our fathers, have mercy on this sick man and give him health, in order that this people may know that you have sent me."

And having said this Jesus commanded the spirit to depart, saying: "In the power of the name of God our Lord, depart, evil one, from the man. The spirit departed and the dumb man spoke, and saw with his eyes. Whereupon every one was filled with fear, but the scribes said: "In the power of Beelzebub, prince of the demons, he casts out the demons."

Then Jesus said: "Every kingdom divided against itself destroys itself, and house falls upon house. If in the power of Satan, Satan be cast out, how shall his kingdom stand? And if your sons cast out Satan with the scripture that Solomon the prophet gave them, they testify that I cast out Satan in the power of God. As God lives, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is without remission in this and in the other world; because the wicked man of his own will reprobates himself, knowing the reprobation." …

(This is also recorded in Gospels-MUQ)

Chapter 70 : Reprimanding Peter

Jesus departed from Jerusalem after the Passover, and entered into the borders of Caesarea Philippi. Whereupon, the angel Gabriel having told him of the sedition which was beginning among the common people, he asked his disciples, saying: "What do men say of me?" They said: "Some say that you are Elijah, others Jeremiah, and others one of the old prophets." Jesus answered: "And you; what say you that I am?" Peter answered: "You are Christ, son of God."

Then was Jesus angry, and with anger rebuked him, saying: "Begone and depart from me, because you are the devil and seek to cause me offences And he threatened the eleven, saying: "Woe to you if you believe this, for I have won from God a great curse against those who believe this." And he was fain to cast away Peter; whereupon the eleven besought Jesus for him, who cast him not away, but again rebuked him saying: "Beware that never again you say such words, because God would reprobate you!" Peter wept and said: "Lord, I have spoken foolishly; beseech God that he pardon me."
