Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov is known (to reporters of the Sofia News Agency, at least) as the "Bulgarian Indiana Jones." To Bulgarians, especially Bulgarian archaeologists, he is known variously as "The Balkan Buffoon" and "New Jersey Jones" and "Bingo, the Dog Faced Boy." This gives you some idea of the esteem he is held in by the Bulgarian archaeological corps. He is also shown ritually cleansing the bones of an alleged vampire with wine, prior to reburial. Obviously, you can't be too careful, right? In fact, he used a local off-brand cola, Krepsi Kola, not wine. This will have 2 effects: it will rapidly eat away the bones to a foul-smelling calcitic slurry and a failure to stop the alleged vampire from its nightly rampages to quench its thirst for human blood and human souls. Strong work, Professor Knucklehead!
