correct me if im wrong, but all scholary work is based around someone elses findings, from this they either agree or disagree on these findings and build on it. It is wrong for you to say that about Dr.Mahina is crap and when we all know its not. I have read a large number of his works and yes i do agree Futa Helu has corrected some of his works, but do keep in mind which field of expertise they come from. Dr. Mahina is a Post-graduate lecture at the University of Auckland, a university more prestigious then ANY in the pacific...
Futa helu is from the University of Sydney University one of the world's most knowledgeable universities and plus he taught Dr Okusi.

This is an amazing new fact. I'll add this to the collection of bullshitness. who in his right mind would even suggest such claims.

hello thanks for your reply i have not gone and done what you suggested ..but i have however just searched family on facebook and any internet social sites ..mainly looking with the old style of keeping records..in the names of the people ..it appears that in my own opinion and theory from the people that i have met and families that my grand mother have named and names of other culturally linked peoples that his name is actually fatai..and iki being the king ..king fatai ..with the niuean people i have noticed that the pattern is more the first name and not the surname to keep the family name in circulation as we do today ..so instead of king fatai or iki fatai its fatai iki ..and of course if you sound that out many times it just sounds like fataiki ..so i theorise that the changes occurred because of societal trend of the niuean people in the pronunciation of the names. i am told that my family did a lot of travelling back and fourth to samoa and i have just found out that the last name is PAEA for me that is tongan. and fatai is mostly found in tongan names..and in my family there is a speculative 80percent intermarriage with tongans..again that is just my theory. so, so far that is where I have gotten..thanks for our help..keep in touch im on laviniapahulu@live.com

druss,

once is not an eternity, just like 300 years is not enough to leave a legacy of 1000 years!

why would we waste our time & resources to even think of ruling a 4th world puppy eating, stoneage, backwater toilet like tenga? you have nothing we need, nothing we desire, nothing druss!

Samoa on the other hand is still the envy of your tengan ancestors and still the real paradise of the pacific.

What part of the samoan story is wrong? Just curious? I'm a descendant of William Charles Mariner, from his son William George Mariner. let me know of what part of hamoa story is wrong since his account was written by Dr. Martin of England?
