Each pair of trousers was sewn together from three pieces of brown-colored wool cloth, one piece for each leg and an insert for the crotch. The tailoring involved no cutting: Pant sections were shaped on a loom in the final size. Finished pants included side slits, strings for fastening at the waist and woven designs on the legs.

P.S. The Chinese learned pants from the Central Asians, the more advanced people at that time.

This is either groundbreaking or fraud. My mother told me she had invented pants in 1956 (still a long time ago!) to "keep the flies out of (her) mustard." Since the 2 alleged discoveries ( but only one is documented, by me) occurred so closely in time, could it be a case of simultaneous/serendipitous invention? The reason I think the Central Asian hypothesis is wrong is that if (and it's a big if) you were a nomadic herdsman, why wouldn't you invent chaps? Or an all-terrain vehicle? Why pants? Did they also invent underpants? Who invented the fedora? Also Central Asian horsemen -- or cigar-smoking Bolivian woman? Did the Central Asian horsemen invent dogs? The bell? Oaken and hempen items? Headaches? Light housework? The comforting hum that fans make? There's a lot more questions you could ask before we get to the bottom of this thing, questions whose time has come, wouldn't you agree?
