Alexander's mother Olympias, was from Epirus, which is on the Greece - Albania border opposite the island of Corfu.
She wasn't from Austria. Coincidentally, the last Empress of Austria has a summer residence on Corfu.

Alexander the Great was never a "Greek leader". In fact he had never "led" a Greek state (in a form we know today). He led his own kingdom - the Kingdom of Macedon and that is the simple truth!
