Stupid article. That is a typical spin on a scientific study by the press, Shame on you Steve Connor.
The article even mentions that the isles were taken over in 1388 (which isn't exactly true, but close enough) but there has NEVER been any historical claims based on ethnicity - why the Faroese should be Danish - They could be Mbunda speaking Zambians, it would make no difference... The Norse part of their origin is NORWEGIAN, so it is completely irrelevant, in the context of who owns the islands. The alternative is that they will become completely independent.
