Gate to Hell discovered in Turkey
As far as archaeological discoveries go, it's a darker one: Pluto's Gate -- aka, the fabled gate to the underworld -- has reportedly been unearthed in Turkey.

That's balderdash. Turkey's lucky to have the Gate to New Jersey -- if they have it. It's long been known and accepted to be in Alabama, with a subsidiary (Dog Door To Hell) in MIssissippi. You really can't have upstart claimants waving and hollering "Over here! Over here! Gate to Hell! Cold beer, topless girls, boogie-woogie bazouki!" Before long it just wouldn't be meaningful. A favorite infernal portal can be found in Toronto, near the downtown Tim Horton's: Gate To Heck. It's not too bad. You throw in a couple of those famous sparrows and they fly right out again, like what'd you expect? Better than the Mystery Vortex.
