Trail network closed to biking as archaeologist evaluates sites
A five-mile network of user-built mountain bike trails off Island Creek Trail in the Croatan National Forest is temporarily closed while U.S. Forest Service officials examine whether its use could harm archaeological remains there.

Within one week, the accumulation of over 250 signatures on a petition to expedite the process in keeping Island Creek Walking Trail OPEN. There are many individuals, young and old, that truly enjoy this trail. God Bless.
