We are so viscerally upset by the pigheadedness of covering up the find that we can't even deal with it. Why is it so unreasonable to think that the brick drain couldn't become part of the renovated park? It obviously is an important facet of Pittsburgh's history. I used to live and work in Pittsburgh, so I was upset by the news; my husband was even more upset and he's from New Jersey! Someone somewhere has to interject some sanity into what's important for the historical celebration of Pittsburgh's beginnings.

It was just buried garbage.

Worse. It was buried republicans. Wot a stench. Had to rebury; health department's orders. Anyway, what's the bfd about "the historical celebration of Pittsburgh's beginnings". That doesn't even make sense.

What's a republican? does it have something to do with white people?

Oh yes. Some young white people -- creepy, entitled aspirational country clubs types, like the 5 scarey Romney boys -- and many older white people who don't really feel that dark people are their equals and yearn for the good old days of the '50s when Crazy Joe McCarthy and his scurvy, priggish evil henchman and catamite Roy Cohn owned the politics of the country and you were free to beat the shit out of your wife and kids -- if you just had to. And darker types knew their place. And, don't forget, that era brought us some great, pioneering TV. Ozzie and Harriet. The ground-breaking Bob Cummings Show. The Merry Mailman. And much, much more. Yes, they lived under a splendid rainbow and they miss it. Of course now you can pack heat in public, which is just a wonderful, wonderful blessing. And those laws are NOT just for lunatics, vigilantes, cretins, and lunatics. No. We can ALL carry exposed weapons anywhere IF WE WANT TO! It's the Republican way.
So that's the long answer.
