I do not live in, or anywhere near salem, so do not care about your tax dollars. I don't know any of the families involved in the case. am following this case, because I care about right and wrong, and truth vs lies.

Phineas would have been back home like the dog you are referring to if there would have been proof of his vaccinations. The home health care provider had the proof. Brown is going by state laws and there are no three bite rules in the city, you know that by now but you are being dishonest. So far it has cost the city an extra $4637.50. The extra money that you say is draining the taxpayers can be regrouped by not letting city employees drive city vehicles for personal use and to and from work, and the biggest way to regroup is by turning off the utilities that the city provides to the dent county animal shelter for free, since they started this all in the first place. Maybe he will consider all of these. Any attorney that has to resort to this kind of publicity and tactics (a gossip forum) is pretty desperate because he is loosing his foolish case. I think the Salem News should publish this letter to show everyone in Salem just how foolish you are.
Dent County Animal Welfare did not start this.

And I've explained this before to you but obviously you didn't get it so I will use smaller words and sentences this time.

Yes, the shelter gets free utilities.
In return ALL animal control animals come there and are housed there.
So, in return for the utilities there is shelter, housing, staff, medical care, food and adoption opportunities that the city does not pay for.
So, in the deal with the city, who actually gets the good deal?
If the agreement hadn't been in place, the city would have to have a separate dog pound to deal with animal control animals and pay for shelter, staff, medical care, food and probably a whole lot of euthanasias. They would have to legally hold animals a required period of time and at least treat medical emergencies before they killed them so all of those expenses are a given.

If you can't do the math expense wise, then you need to go back to school.

Plus the shelter right now has a .01% euthanasia rate (which includes all animals shot and hit by cars that are brought to them.) I would expect that to go to 90-95% if your city ran a dog pound. We all choose the world we want to live in and we choose the world that we want to create.

Look at the letter above and tell me how Joseph P Simon signed it. Are you blind or just that stupid. He represents the Sanders it's that simple, Phineas is their property. Legal technicality my A$$. And you are so worried about your tax dollars being wasted, blame the Sanders because they have brought all of this to your town and now they are trying to leave according to you. Stir up $h!t and leave? Are they hiding something that would make them want to leave? Sure appears that way.
Would you let someone come in your yard and take your "property" without a fight? Especially if it was a family member? Would you let your kids cry every day and be devastated and not try to do anything? Would you want to teach your children not to stand up for what they believe in? Maybe you would. Some wouldn't.
The Sanders have paid fines plus. They have already said, to keep peace, they would not bring him back to their house. They have done everything possible to resolve this peacefully. It is and has been in the hands of the mayor.

Blaming the Sanders is like blaming a gunshot victim because they were standing in the way of a bullet.

This town and the Mayor remind me of JONESTOWN. He is a Jim Jones and you all drank the Koolaid. He is on a powertrip and the people are allowing this man to rule this town. He is an elected official and you got it so wrong. Your town is the laughing stock of the country and your Mayor is being called Hitler.

I hope Mr. Simon and Phineas' family sues the crap out of Salem and the Mayor after this dog is released for the violation of their civil rights that has been well documented. I would be happy to donate to a fund to support the lawsuit. I think they have a great high profile case that could win millions.

Actually, I don't know that Joe Simon himself ever said he was representing only Phineas. Those of us who support him automatically thought that way though because he is doing what is best for Phineas and not what is best for the family. That is at the family's request of course, but in my mind that is representing Phineas. I do know that he is not being paid for his time spent on this project. He is doing it pro bono which means for free.

I'm not telling the mayor what to do, but it's not any more humane to watch the dog die of rabies.

Anybody seen "Old Yeller"?

The dog does not now have, nor has it ever had, rabies. If it had it would have died a year ago.

They only quarantine for 10 days because rabies will show up in that amount of time. The dog have been dead before July was over LAST YEAR.

Please, educate yourself about rabies.

The photo layout by the experts is doctored plain and simple. I used the dots of Phineas teeth(I used my own measurements because they were a little more accurate than their dots) on page 3 of photos at 400% I laid them over the bite wound-the one above teeth photo- blown up to 475% ( because that photo is NOT to scale). Then I rotated the dots counterclockwise at a 45 angle. It fits. I believe he bit down at least two, probably three different times.

Native Salemite, I think you forgot to list where you got your degree in dental forensics. I personally think you are spouting off about something you know nothing about. Do you work for the city? The two gentleman who came up with the originals findings about the bite actually listed their names and credentials. Imagine that.

Do the two guys have a degree in canine dental forensics? Just what kind of credentials do they have? Just wondering if they are creditable and where they got their degree. Can't find out much about them.
