Why has no one talked about how the dog got rabies.
That would be because the dog never had rabies. If he had, he would have been dead a year ago from it.

Camm Seay thinks that people don't lie in court. There is no need for evidence. This will make another funny news story for Salem

According to the information obtained through the Sunshine law,$4700 to date but that does not include the new lawyer they brought in from Ironton. No idea what they've spent on that.
They could end this at any point. Since it is a city ordinance, the mayor has the power under Missouri Law to grant a pardon just like the Governor can at the state level and like the President can at the Federal level.
Why on earth does he not just do that and end this and stop wasting taxpayer money?

Just wondering seems like the tax payers money could be spent more wisely like killing weeds in the streets all over town instead of paying lawyers to try and kill a dog for year.

It already was reported in the Salem news. Its byline should be "mouth for the administration" because they sure aren't unbiased, they don't investigate and they only report what the administration wants them to.
Seay said the reports weren't true because the plaintiff's daughter testified. The Plaintiff in the case was the City. The Defendant was the Sanders. So that, in itself, was wrong.
If he was referring to the defendant's daughter then, again, she didn't testify.
There were also numerous irregularities between the testimony and the police report. This later was explained because the witnesses got all confused and upset about being in court.
NO forensic evidence or investigation was done at the time but then, when confronted by reports from two highly respected credentialed experts, he dismisses it.
Yes, this is justice Salem style.
And the news report made the point that the reports were based on photos that the Save Phineas people had alleged were photoshopped. No, they were based on the photos posted by Grandma. The photoshopped ones that the mayor provided to some reporters early on, that had the reds and purples enhanced to appear that the bruising was worse than the other pictures were NOT used. They were further away from the wound and wouldn't have been much help anyway. So again, the little Salem news story wasn't accurate.
Sad that this is what Salem has for justice and what Salem has for news.
Look at your transcript again. This is still the Patrick and Amber Sanders V. City of Salem case. That would make the Sanders the Plaintiffs and the City of Salem the Defendants ( case.net 7-24-2012). Since it was turned down two times in the court of appeals now the Sanders are back to Dent County with "new evidence" for judge Bernstein to review. The newspaper retracted the article to say that the Plaintiffs daughter witnessed the incident. Yes, The paper said testified and then retracted to say witnessed. Maybe it was the reporters fault, Seays fault or a typo in the print set department, who knows where the blame goes but it sure got a bunch of people all riled up. If grandma had the photos why not make her produce the ones she posted on the internet? Wouldn't that have helped the case? So you are telling us that the attorney used pictures posted on the internet to get two expert opinions? And you think that everyone that disagrees with you on here are idiots? I think the newspaper got it right about the picture.

When the Sanders had the dog where did it stay? On a chain all the time! How cruel is that? After the ruling was made to put the dog down was it not on the last day to appeal that they finally decided to after some prompting from Charlotte White and the animal rights activist? They were gonna let the dog be put down. I don't believe their attorney is paid for by them or donating his time. Animal rights is trying to set a president and making a fool out of our town in the process. Is this dog full blooded lab? Were the impressions from his actual mouth?

Thank you very much. I hope this gets back to Camm Seay before the July 30 court date. If he needs to see what was posted before the good Dr. is told to take it down, I printed it out. Just let me know. This expert Dr. is bragging that him and his associate, the other expert Dr. that did a report too, got to prove Phineas didn't bite the little girl. Read the first part of his article before his report. I don't think this will impress the judge or anyone for that matter. What will these people think of next?

Evidently no one is ever mistaken or lies around here...
Camn Seay also told me that Allyssa Dudley misquoted him regarding a plaintiff's daughter "TESTIFYING" to the supposed bite. If that was wrong in the article, what else was off?(Of well, Allyssa did get Phineas' age wrong, too. but what else is wrong?)

The town leaders are making a fool of the town by themselves. Citizens need to stand up, get involved, and now show the world what is good about Salem.

OOO--It is already a matter of court record, so you don't need to worryabout it being removed. A copy was mailed to Camn Seay. Please look at his credentials. You may want to alter some of your comments here as it does not look as if you read the entire page.

Just think bow the plumbing to each and every house could have been made properly if the city didn't keep wasting taxpayer money to pursue a lie. Now, just be careful where you buy a home in town.

Yes I read the entire page there and on fb. It's the Beginning of the article before the letter to Joe Simon that has me rolling. Evidently you didn't read the article I am referring to. Yes I am sure a copy of the report was sent to Camm Seay but I don't think the beginning comment by Dr. Cosby was sent to Camm Seay. Here it's so you can ead it. ENJOY !!!!!!! Canine Aggression Issues with Jim Crosby

Lots of folks have been following the case of Phineas, the Labrador in Missouri accused of biting a child and sentenced to death by the local Mayor. Full details can be found on the 'Net, including the dramatic allegations regarding his treatment and alleged confinement in a Fire Station basement.

However all of that played out, I did an analysis of the "bite" wounds on the child involved and compared them to the documented photographic measurements of Phineas' jaw and dental structure. An associate of mine, Dr. Ken Cohrn (who is a forensic odontologist with long experience dealing with human remains identification) also did an analysis. And guess what? We both agree that Phineas is not responsible for the alleged bite injury-in fact, we both independently exclude Phineas!

Ken's report is with the legal team (as is mine), but since the reports have now been submitted and are a matter of record I am posting mine here for all to read.

Enjoy!

Dear Mr. Simon:

At your request I have reviewed materials regarding the alleged bite to a 7 year old female by a dog known as Phineas, described as a yellow Labrador type male dog. The alleged bite injury reportedly occurred on 22 June 2012.

You can read the rest of the report that says Phineas did not bite the little 7 year old on the above blog or on Save Phineas fb page.

PETA is not involved, those involved hate PETA. Charlotte White had nothing to do with this either.

The lawyer for Phineas is not paid, he is working pro bono which means free. He is putting in a LOT of hours on this and charging nothing for his time.

There isn't any "animal rights" here. No actual organization for that. The Lexus Project IS involved in that they provide financial assistance for defense of animals. They do that by means of a "chip in" where people all over donate as little as 1 dollar up to as much as they wish to donate and this is done for each case separately. So, I could donate to the Phineas case and not donate to any of their other cases. Frankly, I cannot support some of them and don't.

The forensics of the bite and Phineas mouth show that he could not have made the bite mark. It is only logical too in that he has huge canines and there are non of the large puncture marks on the child but the other, much, much shorter teeth of someone did show on the child. Had that been Phineas, the 4 large canines would have gone in deeply with a lot of tearing. None of that was present on the child.

The forensics and logic say Phineas did not bite the child.

I didn't say anything else was wrong. I said Camm Seay basically said that he can ignore the physical evidence and the forensics reports because he already knows the dog did it. He knows because someone said so. I'm sorry, it's not enough. The physical evidence (mostly Phineas huge canine teeth) show that he did not cause those marks.
