ISTANBUL -- Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met on Tuesday with a group of influential Turkish business people who intend to do business or invest in Serbia.

Nikolic, who is heading the Serbian delegation on a two-day official visit to Turkey that started on Monday, is attending the 12th meeting of the Serbia-Turkey Business Council dedicated to possibilities to expand the economic cooperation between the two countries.

Around 50 Serbian businesspeople are participating in the forum, including Milos Bugarin, the President of Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS).

Serbia's business delegation comprises representatives of Serbian companies who already have business relations with Turkish companies or are trying to place their products in Turkey.

These are mostly companies dealing with agriculture and food industry, companies dealing with the production of vehicles, furniture, paper and cardboard, but also those dealing with tourism and information technology.

The delegation also includes the only Serbian investor in Turkey, who represents Bomex Holding, the core business of which is production and placement of products of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic continued on Tuesday his visit to Turkey with a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Istanbul.

Nikolic, who is leading a Serbian state delegation on the official two-day visit to Turkey, was received by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Earlier on Tuesday, Nikolic visited the Hagia Sophia, one of the finest examples of Byzantine art.

Nikolic wrote in the Hagia Sofia visitors' book: "As everything in life changes, so did the masters and visitors of this holy place. Changes make the world go round."

Later on Tuesday, Nikolic met with most influential Turkish business people over a working lunch, and took part in a Serbian-Turkish business forum.

Nikolic will wrap up his visit to Turkey on Tuesday evening with a meeting with Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu.

On Monday, Nikolic met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek.
