Biodiesel works locally, globally

In his letter "Biodiesel is problem, not solution," Lee Brown Jr. blames "biofuels" for future world hunger, climate change, and the mass clear-cutting of rain forests, and even this paper's integrity.

Do it for God sake but with your money, not taxpayers. And when you are ready to sell somthing istead of letters in this paper let the public know. If it is such great idea then you get money back and will make a fortune. How about this old fashion approach? Did Ford ask for taxpayers money when he started to build cars? No he did not. So try Henry's approach, it did work for him.

biodiesels - fine

corn ethanol-- beyond stupid

real solution:

coal gassfication

the USA is the Saudi Arabia of coal

yeah but it is bad for the enviroment...

and so is eating a Teo's hotdog and blowing flamers out your butt but you don't see people stopping.

whatever we kill ourselves trying to reduce in co2 emissions-- i have news for you - China, India and Russia are just going to multiply it 100 fold.

For every viable manufactuing business we tax out of the USA with dumb global warming legislation -- the worse for the world. It ends up in Shanghai where they don't give a crap.

The whole Food vs. Fuel issue fabricated by special interest groups. Please, take a look at how the "experts" are being paid off to make up these lies:

http://nbb.grassroots.com/resources/GrassleyN...

http://biofuelsdigest.com/blog2/2008/05/16/ca...

Biodiesel is made from oil, which has no nutritional value and is not even classified as a food. Should we send tanks of soy oil to Ethiopia to feed the hungry? Soybeans are 10% oil and 90% meal. For every pound of oil we use in biodiesel, we produce 9 pounds of soy meal. Increased oil use leads to increased meal supply, thereby reducing food prices, not increasing them. Anyone supporting this Food vs. Fuel sham is either on the take or ignorant to the issue and don't understand basic economics.

This article aptly describes a confused response, at best, or a dishonest one, at worst, from the experts. The answers these experts provide get us nowhere. The reasons for this failure can be found in the Science of Kabbalah under the teaching of Rav Michael Laitman PhD. He relates how these material failures force us to deal with our egoism.

"What comes to mind is “Cannons instead of butter!”- Goebbels’ proclamation in his 1937 New Year’s Eve speech. As usual, we’ve wanted to do what’s best, and it’s turned out like it always has. Furthermore, we will continue ending up with unfavorable results every time, because our egoistic intentions are in disharmony with the force of Nature controlling us. While aiming ourselves egoistically, any “good initiative” we can come up with is destined to fail from the start, and moreover, as a result of our “great minds” and “good intentions” throughout history (since the time of Ancient Babylon), we are today witnessing an avalanche of collapses all at once.
It’s time to realize that we can no longer act against Nature. On the contrary, we need to study Nature and act in harmony with it. For this purpose, Kabbalah reveals Nature’s Upper Governing Force to us."

Soon democRATS will want gas stations to take food stamps as payment for bio fuel.
