Biodiesel is made from oil, which has no nutritional value and is not even classified as a food. Should we send tanks of soy oil to Ethiopia to feed the hungry? Soybeans are 10% oil and 90% meal. For every pound of oil we use in biodiesel, we produce 9 pounds of soy meal. Increased oil use leads to increased meal supply, thereby reducing food prices, not increasing them. Anyone supporting this Food vs. Fuel sham is either on the take or ignorant to the issue and don't understand basic economics.

This article aptly describes a confused response, at best, or a dishonest one, at worst, from the experts. The answers these experts provide get us nowhere.
