why work? welfare pays more and if you work, you lose free medical! i have worked for farmers in the past. they pay below minimum wage,70 to 80 hrs a week and no overtime after 40 hrs. farmwork is one step above slavery. imagine working 80 hrs a week for less than $400.00 a week! its not worth it,besides few farmers offer any benefits

Hey Rednecks here is your chance. Go come on here are the openings the jobs that the illegals have been taking.
I do not see none of you Fkrs going there to work, I do not see none of you sending your kids to work there for the summer.
See, you are all talk but no action. Go do what the illegals do work sunsent to sundown come on. They are living you the opportunities you all ask for.
Where are your kids, oh no Dakota cannot go pick up frutis under the sun and Jay suffers from a skin illness that cannot touch dirt.
See you whites are always excuses excuses, when the opportunity arise you all do none.

the damage would be done by uneducated, irresponsbile people who dont appreciate having a job or dont even want a job but are forced to work for their benefits. Hell i wouldnt mind being in the sun picking berries. One for my mouth one for the bucket!!!! Red fingers from all the berries. Yes its back breaking work all that bending, but its real work.
Good point.
The damage would also be done by those who like to be in the sun picking berries ... and then after the tenth of fifteenth day got sick and tired of it, and then one day the wind was blowing, and it was cool and drizzling, and oh, my back hurts, and 'man, the nerve of him to tell me to do that!', and this is not fun anymore.
One cannot teach work ethic.

The blame falls squarely on the pro-illegal alien groups. Our system is designed to allow seasonal migrant workers into the country to work in the agriculture field. So they all ran off and are now invading every city in the USA. Wandering the streets shooting each other and causing crimes and lawlessness. Enforce the laws we have and which worked for the needs of the farmers.
They can start by raiding every place illegals have invaded! Oh, and send Tokyo Rose with the illegals so they have some entertainment while enroute back to thyeir home countries.

<quoted text>So let me get what your saying, we should pay tomato pickers$15.00 bucks an hour? lets add the high price of fuel for tractors, electric for irrigation pumps, packaging fees for boxes and crates, more fuel for the trucks to get em to market and let`s not forget the brokers cut and the 3 cents for the farmers profit and how much are you willing to pay for your tomato? You should do some research into farming before you open your mouth about something you know nothing about
Pay what ever you need to employee legal citizens and residents instead of illegal alien lawbreakers. If you can't afford to do that then hang up your tractor keys and we will do without your tomatoes.
ANYONE that hires illegal lawbreaking aliens should have their business forclosed on and go to jail for ten years. Problem solved.

I'm white, and have done stoop labor my whole life. My kids grew up picking stones and pulling weeds. You don't know what you are talking about.

another city idiot that thinks food comes from the grocery store, How much food will be in the stores when the farmers "Hang up their tractor keys"? I think farmer`s should do what oil companies are doing, you want it? then you WILL pay what I want for it. as for me I grow most of my own food and hunt so all I can say is it must suck to be you

I have to agree with you regarding the prisoners considering the good ol USA has the highest number of imprisoned people in the world

he answer is grow crops in a micro farm type manner instead of as a huge industrial farm, return to a local agrarian type society and save fuel moving the stuff, sell to locals, use local labor at a decent wage. The illegals just add to the problem. My father picked cotton in Arkansas in the 50-60s , and he was white. The county would let school out for harvest time and the community would work together, and get it done. I guess we have lost that sense of community when everyone wanted to be a wounded minority and self entitled to something.

Not around here I'm not.
This country is full of motivated hard working folks who are not afraid/ashamed to work.
Where are you that you do not see that?

Simple, go downtown by the uemployment lines, welfare lines, City Mission and East and West side street corners and pick up loads of these lazy, no good, filthy bums and put them to work.

I'm sick of paying their way though life with my tax dollars.

They apparently think we were all born with a silver spoon in our mouths. I was brought up to work hard and passed that on to my children. I'm not certain why people think working long hours is a bad thing. I work 60 hours a week in my small business, which was my choice. I don't complain.....there's no one to listen!

unfortunatley...they would never do that. Anyone here remember being a kid and seeing the prisoners cleaning up the thruways? I remember seeing them on the side of the road picking up trash. I agree with all of you - send the people on welfare out there. Free labor for the farmers and it would save them a fortune and us $$$$ cause the produce prices would go down. Darn. you guys are too smart. Too bad the government will never figure this out....
What ever happened to the good old chain gangs? I remember seeing many when driving through the south.

It has been years since I have seen big crew. Occassionally I will see a few but nothing like before.

Oh wait...I'll bet there was a cruel and unusual punishment lawsuit at some point in time.

*standing O*

I am sure you have read about my husband who technically should be out on disability and not working by many standards after a severe accident last Sept. Gee, he is back to full work and travelling for work again. He works three jobs (two are consulting) and does this so I can only have to work part time with my own small business (suffering in the economy horribly) and raise the kids.

If we had to, he would go back to security and I would work nights if needed cleaning bedpans or I will drive school buses. When my youngest is in full day kindergarten, I will start substitute teaching. I am hoping next year to do some tutoring in the schools a few mornings when preschool is five mornings next year.

There are many people I know who would love better jobs but cannot find them. I know of people in other fields who are losing positions so people can be hired cheaper. I know people who are barely able to make ends meet in a poorer neighborhood but cannot get jobs because they want to make too much money. No they just want to survive.
