They're not doctors; they're just soldiers/combat life savers. Please read:

"The soldiers are learning emergency lifesaving skills needed on the battlefield when there are no medics, doctors or facility nearby ..."

In order to graduate, Green Beret medics had to successfully treat a goat that was just shot; apparently the military went to pigs because their organs are more similar to us.

If PETA has a better alternative to this essential, emergency hands on training, I'd like to hear it.

The men and women that will be receiving this training will be required to treat our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan at the moment they are wounded. Being trained in actual surgical like procedures has been saving soldiers lives certainly since Viet Nam when the Green Beret medics were trained by dogs that have been shot. I am a combat veteran of Viet Nam and I have seen first hand the benefits of this training. I say shoot as many pigs as you want. Train our medics well. The lives of our sons and daughters depend upon it. I have no problem with shooting pigs that would otherwise end up at the butchers as pork chops.

How about not going out into the world fighting bullshit wars based on lies? How about keeping the sons and daughters safe at home. Why are we putting the kids in harms way in the first place when there's no damn need for it.

Then I guess you are against:
1) Bacon
2) Babyback Ribs
3) Pork Chops
4) Sausage
5) Hot Dogs
6) BBQ

If this is the case, then you and PETA need to go after All Grocery Stores, Slaughter houses, Pig Farms, Denny's, Oscar Meyer, Hummel Brothers, Jimmy Dean, Nathan's, every Diner in the USA and so on. You have lots of picketing to do, so get going. Save all these Pig Killers.
Listen, God gave us everything on earth to USE, and Pigs are just one of the many things for mankind in Mother Nature's pantry for us to eat.
If they need to use pigs in order to help save the lives of our GI's, then fine. Also remember that this same research will end up in the hands of our everyday EMT's that will perhaps save your life some day or some one you love.

It's too late for that now, we're already there and, like it or not, will have to stay on for some time.

When I was a Combat Lifesaver in Bosnia, the most challenging thing I had to do was insert an IV into a fellow soldier, but now that's not good enough, so they have to shoot and treat pigs in order to learn to keep our soldiers alive.
