This makes me sick. The lack of an uproar makes me sicker!

well I have been trying for some time to get people to wakeup to the fact that they don't want horse slaughter here in their state as have many others in New Mexico. A large part of state income will disappear because you may be certain that New Mexico will be boycotted by tens of thousands of people who used to visit here as tourists or conduct business of any kind with companies located in New Mexico. When the health hazards start spreading from the plant - assuming it will ever be allowed to open - and the staggering clean up costs for the contamination start rolling in to taxpayers, suddenly they will no longer be apathetic !
They are apathetic now because they don't think horse slaughter will impact their pocket books. It will ! Quite negatively, through loss of income, property values, no new business willing to move here, raising taxes, loss of clean water, etc. Apathy kills and not just horses. Everyone else too !

offering any opinion on the issues involved, I have to say that there has been plenty of concern. That is why it hasn't opened yet and the case to remove the temporary ban had to go up to the court of appeals.

Why is it slaughter when horses are involved and processing for all other animals?

Horse slaughter is inherently inhumane. As I have expressed before in another post those for slaughter need the meat for nutritional purposes. RoswellAliens need the nutrition and cannot understand the two terms. Only those born on planet Earth can. You are not programmed to understand.

Roswell prefers to call it Horse Processing, no different than any other animal, meanwhile horse meat sales remain stable.

about as useful as a dog chasing its own tail. But you have fun with that if that's what you want to do.

oh it will be more useful than that ! Come to this forum same time next year and you will still find Valley Meat not opened for horse slaughter. As the man from Men's WearHouse says, I can guarantee it ! Now you can go back to playing the useful game of pinning the tail on the jackass. You will have to use a mirror.

"Processing" is the word used for film... Killing is the word used for slaughter.
