We, the undersigned residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, stand together in opposition to any efforts to infringe upon our Second Amendment right to bear arms.

Proposals like House Bill 760, which calls for a statewide registry of all guns and requires gun owners to renew their registration annually for a $10 fee per gun, do nothing to alleviate gun-related crimes. Instead, it only places more of a burden on law-abiding citizens who chose to own firearms.

We don't need more gun control laws in Pennsylvania, and we oppose any effort by the House Judiciary Committee to advance House Bill 760 or any other gun control measures.

I am from originally from N.E. Pa. I'm in the USAF and was stationed in Okla for 6.5 years where there are hogs everywhere. There is a saying down there and it goes, "there are 2 types of farmers, 1 type have hogs on their land, and 2, WILL have hogs on their land." Sorry to let all of you know the truth, but we'll never get rid of them now. NO matter what you do. You all can say let's kill them and erradicate them. It's not going to happen. I assure you. At the Red River where the hogs are in the most dense population (Love County), they kill about 1,000 a year and haven't put a dent in the population. They best thing that can happen is the game commission needs to let the Farmers hunt these things at night. You'll get more of them. And might scare them a little more, for the time being. Also, there isn't and won't be a specific season on them. They are a feral animal and the Game Commission has no jurisdiction on them. I've hunted them, I've killed them and frankly, yes they are destructive. In Love County you can't walk in the woods and spit, and not hit a stump where a hog grubbed out of it. I have to admit though, it is the best hunting I have ever experienced. And the best tasting game I have ever tasted. But that's not worth the trade for the devastation that they bring with them. Good Luck and I hope you kill a couple! And Try them, best tasting pork/bacon you'll ever have!!!

There is an article in the Intelligencer Journal (Lacaster County paper) today about this problem with the feral hogs. The State Supremem Court has stopped hunting of these feral animals until the Game Commission comes up with a season and/or limits. Those that don't support hunting these animals need to study them. They will destroy crops, and habitat of our native animals. I haven't hunted in over 13 years, but if they open a season on the feral hogs I just might have to start again....

Isn't there anything else we can do? Why must our answer be to kill them? If we spent $60,000 for a wild hog study, why couldn't we have invested some in the money to found a way to the pig-farming industry, the wildlife, and the hogs.
Why not hunt them ethically? And utilize the good meat for our freezers? Seems simple enough. That's the way it is done in dozens of other states, plus its' fun to shoot them.
