So cockroaches are not as filthy as people think. I would have never guessed that they clean themselves. However, I don't want even a clean roach on me or crawling on my food.

They do this while walking around through dog poop and eating rotting food. Very clean creatures, eh?

Way back before internet, I saw a documentary that was hosted by (I think) Alan Alda.

It was about the micro world and things you could see under x1000 magnification.

One of the most interesting parts of the show was the filming of insects indoors with a radio playing.

The insects were literally be-bopping down to the music.
Roaches were the most responsive.
Squatting up and down, lifting and lowering legs, and turning their little heads
in time to the music.
This was one of the funniest things I ever saw.

Still wouldn't want them in my kitchen, LOL.

That sounds a bit like Joe's Apartment. You might find it on Youtube if Google didn't pull it for copyright reasons. That is a short MTV movie where the roaches saved the city.
