John Corzine? Ex-gov of NJ turned investment crook. Wasn't he the one that obama supported and thought was the "smartest guy in the room"? I remember obama giving him a 'man hug' on stage at a speech once. I think he might have even been considered for a cabinet position at one time? Might be wrong on that one. Anyway, funny you should use that as such an example and then turn right around and think obama is the ONE for re-election. You might want to take as close a look at who obama surrounds himself with and who he gets his LARGE donations from, as you do Romney. Could it be that the double standard is in effect in this conversation? Methinks so.
Let's play it your way. So, why doesn't Mitt Romney release 12 years of tax returns like his father did? Something wrong? Is he afraid we'll find out he's wealthy? No, not that. We already know. What's the problem?

What's his excuse again about signing SEC filings that he knew nothing about because he was "removed" from day to day operations. Did he sign blank checks as well? Funny you should mention Obama when here we have a prime example of a man who isn't even transparent out of the gate. This somehow gives you comfort that he would have a more transparent government? What about policies he wants to put in place that would make outsourcing and repatriation at a later date penalty free?

<quoted text>The Fairness Problem
People are not machines. They have to be motivated to work hard. If they feel that they are being treated unfairly, it can be difficult to motivate them. This is one of the central tenets of modern labor economics, encapsulated in the so-called efficiency-wage theory, which argues that how firms treat their workers—including how much they pay them—affects productivity. It was, in fact, a theory elaborated nearly a century ago by the great economist Alfred Marshall, who observed that “highly paid labour is generally efficient and therefore not dear labour.” In truth, it’s wrong to think of this proposition as just a theory: it has been borne out by countless economic experiments.(Cont.)

I understand that.
I am willing to pay more for good service and quality then have to pay twice for the same service.
When I was young I worked on a boat in Alaska and we where paid a share of the catch. If the boat did good we where paid good and if the boat did poorly we got paid poorly.
The result was anyone who did not pull their own weight cost ALL of us money and would be kicked off the boat promptly by the whole crew.
But in society as a whole there no way to kick those who dont pull their own weight off the boat.

dude please get your facts right. President Obama didn't enter office with the largest majorities in the House and Senate. If he did, the GOP wouldn't have been able to use the filibuster over 100X in President Obama's first 2 years in office. The GOP has used the filibuster more in President Obama's term than the sum total of the last 212 years of the Senate.
The Dream Act that you wingnuts accuse President Obama of pushing on the American Public, passed in the House and in the Senate it had 55 votes for 41 against to bring it up to the floor.
Sounds like it won by 14 votes, but only in this crazy world does it take 60 votes to pass something. in reality, something you teabaggers and right wingnuts abhor, it was the minority conservative wingnuts shoving their crap down the throat of the rest of us.
If somehow the GOP wins the Senate, you can bet the house that they will eliminate the filibuster, so the Democrats can't do the same to them.
I had to laugh when Mitch McConnell chastised the Democrats for bring up the campaign finance disclosure bill for the second time in 2 yrs, saying they knew it wouldn't pass but they brought it up anyway.(It would pass, if it didn't need 60 votes just to bring it to the floor) He harped that it was a waste of taxpayer dollars and congress has more important things to do
like the GOP bringing up a bill to repeal the health care reform act
32 TIMES IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS, KNOWING FULL WELL IT WOULDN'T PASS IN THE SENATE AND PRESIDENT OBAMA WOULD VETO IT IF IT EVER GOT TO HIS DESK.
32 X in 18 months, that is almost 2X/month
Hey Mitch, is that a waste of taxpayer dollars too???
Facts don't mean anything to WingNuts. McConnell said the number 1 priorty would be making President Obama a One Term president and to hell with the rest of the country. At least 99% of it.
Republicans are busy Focussing like a Laser on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. No? Oh that's right they are enthralled with voting against Womens rights and attempting to save the rich from getting poor. I guess jobs, the economy and banning assault weapons will have to wait. Again. Record number of Filibusters. Way to go GOP.

And one of the things I had to get used to was the fact my wife thinks the eyes of sea animals are the best part.
LOL. I knew some poor folks too, but I don't think they were into eyeballs. They usually just wrung a chicken's neck, chopped the head off, hung it upside down for the blood to drain, pulled out the intestines and slung them out into the yard for the other chickens to eat (chickens will eat anything including eyeballs), poured boiling water over the carcass, plucked out the feathers and then dressed their chicken. Otherwise, they ate vegetables from the gardens they raised and blackberries they picked on the mountain fields after wiping their legs good with kerosene to keep away the chiggers. If they ate eyeballs, they kept it a secret.

Still, if your wife likes sea animal eyes, why not eat cow eyes in a hot dog. Probably not a lot of difference;-)

Why the hell should he have to release 12 years of tax returns? He's released what required by law. You think he should be sharing his wealth with others? I don't see obama sharing any of his money. All that moron is doing is putting this country in so much debt we'll never get out of it.

Why? Because we want to see them, and he didn't mind sharing that and more with McCain. Why not the public? He doesn't HAVE to. But, we're going to be a LOT more suspicious of him if he doesn't.

Releasing his tax returns is not "SHARING HIS WEALTH". Where did you ever get that idea? Or, maybe that's not what you meant to say.

Wrong again, Festus.

According to the Obamas’ 2010 tax returns, the president and first lady donated about $245,000, 14.2 percent of their adjusted gross income to charity.

In 2011 the President and First Lady also reported donating $172,130 – or about 22% of their adjusted gross income – to 39 different charities. The largest reported gift to charity was a $117,130 contribution to the Fisher House Foundation.
