Getting heated over global warming

Global warming has been a controversial issue for some time. Recently, Kevin O'Leary, a journalist and political scientist at the Center for the Study of Democracy at UCI, wrote a column that fueled the argument.

A very stupid piece of misdirection.

AGW is not controversial. It is solidly established scientific fact. The forcings that are responsible are NOT "natural processes, especially the influence of the sun, cosmological processes and ocean currents." These can change climate by shifting heat from one place to another, but AGW is a global average surface temperature which is ONLY determined by solar influx (and the solar influx is very constant), the albedo of the planet, and the greenhouse effect (increasing).

Also, he confuses climate with AGW. Two separate but related issues.

There are natural climate processes which can cause CYCLICAL change such as decadal oscillations. But there is also a change in the baseline caused by AGW. That is, there is an EFFECT on climate from AGW as the causation.

The article is typical junk science spin aimed at misinformation, not truth.
